Snow Day

March 2006

We have not had rain in the Phoenix area for 144 days.

Then a storm came. With the storm, came the street flooding. In Mesa we got about 2 and half inches of rain.
Mesa Rain

Everytime it rains in Mesa, the streets flood.

Streets flood
When the rains came here, the snow came up north. We heard the highway was closed, we decided to go see how close we could get to the snow... The pictures that follow show how close we got.

Beeline Highway (87) has been reopened. Lets see how far north we can go...(yes, that is snow on the saguaros)

More and more....

More Traffic

The Bridge headed south.

Closer....

Valley people know what to do when it snows..It's a Tailgate party!!!
For miles along the highway, people are gathering to see this white substance that has fallen from the sky....

Okay... there must be some where for us to park!!
