Bookmans is different. (and technically, many of the places I have on the site charge fees to enter, such as the Zoo, Usery Park, etc.) Bookmans, to me is much more then a store and that is why I decided to include a page for it. It is a family friendly place, with a calendar of events that is not matched in Mesa.
Besides the zillions* of (they buy, sell and Trade) books, records, cassette tapes, CD's, DVD's, Videos, Software, games (both electronic and traditional), they also offer many FREE regular and special events.
Open Mic Night, for those who can't wait for American Idol #47, monthly BINGO games (Win store credit) , Swing dance lessons, Belly dance lessons, Yoga, Chess, D and D, musicians, psychics, Kid's events, Improv night, and many, many more. Seriously, there is something for everyone.
They have a cozy, relaxed atmosphere, with knowledgeable, courteous workers, who not only know their stuff, but appear to love it.
If you are having a hard time finding an item, they even have a request form. Their trade credit is fair, and an easy process. (they wont be offering you $1 in credit for your first edition Shakespeare). Collectables, artwork, and other special collections are also available.
These pictures are from the yearly customer appreciation party, this year's theme was "Once upon a Time". A daylong event, with magic show, piņata', music, refreshments, silent auction and so much more. (We took with us 3 fairy tale princesses and a Mad Hatter).
